Can I install a Maggie TVS2300 without Headers?

Hey guys, this might sound like a stupid questions... I am in the process of getting a TVS2300 for my L99 and will be installing it myself... My real question is, do I really have to have Headers... I hate the way they sound.( Way to Raspy ). I have the stock manifolds and a CAI with the Flowmaster American Thunder Cat Back System and a Pro Tune.... I love the deep sound the car makes now and I really don't want to get headers....

Will I still get a Big HP Increase from what I have now?

My car Dyno'd with the CAI and Flowmasters and tune @ 335 RWHP....

What do you think I would get with the Maggie and no Headers with my current set up..... Thanks Guys

I won't take a stab at guessing your power level, but you, by no means, need headers to reap the benefits of a Maggie. You will make power o'plenty with or without headers!

you can put it on there, it just will not have the gains it would if you had headers... it will still make more power just not optimal..

You dont have to install headers. It will make more Horsepower if you Put Large tube headers in with that maggie. But its not Mandatory.

I don't have headers either - I know I could have more power with them but this is my daily driver and I like to talk to people in the car

If you stay stock with the Maggie 3.8 pulley - I think you will probably pull about 450-460 rwhp with a good tune. I'm no expert, but ADM Performance just completed my L99/LS3 conversion with a cam and the TVS2300 with a 3.6 pulley. Not sure if you have seen the thread "ADM - L99/Supercharger Build", but it might help you out a little bit...

Thanks for all the great advice guys.... I will be canceling my order for the Headers with Summit first thing monday morning. That is an extra $1000 I can put towards the maggie.. Now that I think about it, maybe I will just get the Polished one....

What the hell !!LOL

You can still go with Shorty headers, which gives you a better flow than stock and doesn't sound so harsh like the LT. Sort of a middle road. Edelbrok makes nice Shorties. Ask Summit how much they cost and it's replacement to stock manifold.

False. You will not. You make a pulley change and retune the car and you pickup a good amount of power and maintain the same boost level. Especially if you have complete exhaust to get the air out. Shoot me a PM and I can tell you about my experiences with a maggie and headers. I picked up a half second in the 1/4 mile with headers, exhaust, a pulley change, and a retune. There is a TON of power to be had.
