2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8 Rumored to get 6.4-liter HEMI

Rumors are a dime a dozen these days and for the most part I shy away from writing about them unless I feel they make some sort of sense. This time around I came across a rumor over on OntarioStreetCar.com about the 2011 Dodge Challenger receiving a 6.4-liter HEMI to replace the 6.1-liter HEMI engine currently found in the 2010 Dodge Challenger. According to OntartioStreetCar the rumor comes from a very reliable source who also said the engine should produce anywhere from 475 - 525 horsepower and be more fuel efficient than the current 6.1-liter HEMI engine. Other changes rumored for the 2011 Dodge Challenger include a roof mounted fin-style antenna, a new steering wheel, and new door handles along with a passive entry feature which would allow the owner to open the door while the key fob is in their pocket. For now we will just have to wait and see what really comes to fruition.

Looks like the 2011 CamaroSS will need an increase in HP

I think people forget that the SS was not intended to compete in the same category as the SRT8. The SRT8 and GT500 are in the same category, not the Camaro SS. This is for the Z28.

Mustang GT, Camaro SS and Challenger R/T are in the same category for comparison.

Good for Dodge on making it more competitive.

I like the new 6.4 Hemi...but I don't like they are only offering an auto to start production.

I'd love to get a hold of a M6 6.4 and romp on it a bit!

They did the same thing on the 1st year of the 6.1 SRTs as well.

yep they know their market well, they know that people will gobble up the first run of them no matter what it has. then to satisfy the "purist" they will throw in a manual and charge extra.

also this rumor has been going on for a while now and is all but confirmed.... trust me the 6.4 will be in the challenger very soon,

personal preference. i think the camaro looks good from the outside but the interior looks like it came out of a ricer imo. challenger has the more muscle car interior feel besides the stupid steering wheel not being 3 spoke

If it was priced more competetively I would consider it.

Oh... have you got a price list for the 6.4 Hemi Challenger already?
Can we see it?

BTW have you looked at this yet?

I think he was referring to the current prices. Also don't be surprised if you see a healthy price increase for the 11 Camaro.......
