Anybody else have this problem.........

I purchased the car of my dreams on Feb 14 2010. It is a 2010 Camaro 2LT RS IOM. I traded in my daily driver pickup truck. I am wanting to do alot of Mods to this car and would rather not use it as my daily driver. My problem here is with my wife. I suggested getting a old clunker to drive back and forth to work for around a $1000 dollars. And she thinks its a stupid idea. I tell her I don't want to put 50 miles a day on this car. As nice as it is, I would like to keep it and drive it on Sunny days and the weekends. She hit the roof and thinks I have lost my mind. What do you guys think?? Is this a stupid idea or have I just gone bonkers?? Any advice appreciated. Thanks

Drive mine all the time, even in winter.

But if I get the ability to own a decent winter vehicle, I would prefer that of course for that time period.

Fun to drive, do it every chance you get

I purchased my 95 Volvo 960 to do just what you are thinking. Although it's not quite a clunker, it's much less expensive than the Camaro. It's my DD and I usually travel every week where I'm at a construction site. No way in hell I'm driving the Camaro to that job site. The Camaro is something to look forward to on the weekends in nice weather and an occasional weekday when I'm in the office or off work!

i have a 2lt and i drove almost 300 miles a week, you shouldnt leave it in a garage, this car is meant to be driven, dont buy a car for $1000, and just stick to driving the camaro. i mean you bought it to drive it, not to store it.

Your wife is pissed over $1000? how tight is your budget? Mine is a few weeks away from delivery and I have a daily driver for my 50miles/day. 2001 grand am.

My winter and bad weather driver is a 98 Dakota I bought 2 weeks before I took delivery of the Camaro. I have had the Camaro since Sept 29th and only put 720 miles and 440 of that was just this past weekend on a road trip to PA. The very first time i took the car to work (75 miles on it) some dumbass was nice enough to leave me a door ding. So now the camaro is weekend and good weather after work only. If someone dings my 12 yr old truck I am not as crazy about it.

Yep, I bought a 95 Lumina just for this reason, although on nice work days I'm driving the SS.
