AAC had their STS turbo car there. Beauwulf kicked some major a** at the autocross. There wasn't much V6 exclusive stuff, but a lot of stuff works for both the V6 and the V8.

The STS Turbo is one that I would not be interested in. YES it has some innovation to it, but most engineers will tell you the shorter the runs from the turbo from the exhaust the better the performance will be. All the added plumbing for this system adds weight also, and that is something I don't want to bother with.

I was hoping for more selections from vendors when it came to mods available to buy. Nick @ ARH was surprised I was there, so he figured out some space for me to park the ride for a little, to show off the V6 Longtubes.

Aside for suspensions, shifters and other exterior mods, I didn't see much for V6.

Agreed. Alot of the performance stuff seemed much more geared toward SS', but ALL attending vendors were appreciated !!!

Alot of cosmetic stuff, decals, shift knobs, etc.

I LOVED the Barton Short Throw Shifter, but the Fest special was hardly a discount at $190 when on line price is $200, but I am targeting this next. I LOVED the throw on the shifter. Going 2nd to 3rd at times can cause jump over to 5th and downshift from 6th to 5th at times can go to 3rd. Seemed like the short throw had a solid throw patterns and felt much less susceptible to bad shifts. It was just a shift arm and bushing setup, as opposed to entire mount shifter box over tranny like other at Fest (forget vendor), but I liked the feel of the Barton much more. My wife liked it a bunch too and she has many more shifting issues than I do.

If you've not looked at it, check out their post here. A video with throws, but difficult from video to get a feel for it.

Hey, Give the Barton guys a break. They are a small shop, basically family owned. They are no Hurst nor are the MGW, those guys have much deeper pockets. Barton makes a nice product and they do look out for the V6 folks too. If I had known they were going to make a V6 specific knob, I would have bought their shifter AND Knob and installed that over the Hurst Shifter. I am STILL PO'd that Hurst makes no shifter knob that matches our V6 pattern, and I'll mention it every chance I get.

Ummm........I don't think anyone said anything bad about them in this thread. But I and a couple others were ready to buy their Automatic pistol grips, but they have to machine it a little more, because of GM's inconsistencies. I am cool with them, still going to buy their products when they release it

Just saying it is harder for a small shop to make a profit. Many here feel that Barton has a great product at a GREAT Price. At $190 for their shifter that will do the same job as the Hurst, and made by a Camaro Owner also. Barton is responsive to the needs of their Customer's, hence the number of Shift Knobs they make to SATISFY their customers. Their attention to their customers needs should be applauded.

Not sure why you seem to feel they are being attacked. That was hardly my intention.
I like their stuff and I'm pretty sure I mentioned that.
The Fest price was a 5% discount. If they are cutting their profits so low from production to sales that 5% is as low as they can go, they're a very unusual shop. Unusual in that their profit margin is lower than most. If they had more in cars, perhaps the popularity would allow them to bump up their profit margin due to demand.
Not sure how much they've sold yet and AGAIN - I love their product -but the Fest is the absolutely perfect place to make market impact, sell a fair amount and get their product in the cars for more exposure.
I am very glad and appreciative they attended, especially since there were not a ton of vendors. Those that came, were much appreciated for showing up for us to first hand see their products. The Barton guys were very helpful. I just might have been talked into their shifter at the Fest if they'd discounted to a price that seemed like one that knocked their on line price 'out of the park'.

Did not see much if any at all Flowmaster was on hand but only had a display with the SS, I was able to show about a dozen V6 owners my Flowmaster exhaust and let them here it.

Im glad you liked the shifter, and it was nice meeting you and everyone else that stopped by. I didn't find anything you said to be "attacking"
On the 5% discount... I would have loved to offer more of a discount but it really isnt there.
We are different then everyone else. We are a machine shop specialiaing in Aerospace and semiconductor work. We get blueprints in from Airplane and Helicopter companys and we qoute how much it will cost to machine a part based on our hourly shop rate, material cost, and tool usage. There is no mark up after that or we would never get any contracts. We have brought these same principals over to the automotive aftermarket world.
We have ZER0 mark up on sales we simply charge an hourly rate for the product to be made, it would be the same cost if you walked into our shop and needed a part made up for something you were working on. We have had countless Distributors contact us wanting to distribute our products but we have had to turn them all away based on not having any profit margin in the price.
We could have marked the price up to $350 from the get go like the other companys and offered a 25% discount at the show but we wanted to offer an awesome product at a whole sale price.
There is no middle man- I program and run the machines and Im the same guy that places the product in the box and ships it off.
Thanks
Dave
