Camaro5 fest allowed me to do something that I never have done before, but always wanted, I was so nervous, and finally got the courage to line up and race my car. Well I am hooked, I already found 2 tracks near me, and I want to go this weekend!!!!!!!!!!

My car is a daily driver, I put 70 miles on it a day...I been told a couple times not to drive my car every day if i plan on racing it.

I guess I'm going thru withdrawls from last weekend

I keep thinking of ways to make my car faster (Cam, Street Slicks and when the engine goes, maybe a 427). My best time was 12.05 at 121 MPH.

I drag raced two of my daily drivers (87 Camaro, 93 Z28) at least every other weekend for two years respectively. I got rid of the '87 with 120K+ miles on it (I didn't even start racing it until about 75K miles). The Z28 went with about 80K miles on it and I pretty much started racing it day one, but I never had a lick of trouble out of either one of those engines. I had little stuff tear up, like the water pump and MAF sensor, but the engines were perfect!! Guess I kept them nice and blown out.....LOL!!!

So go out and enjoy the heck out of yourself. (I would have a back up plan in place though....just in case!!!)

Your in trouble now. You got the fever, and it never breaks until your to old or to broke.
I could of retired very early if I haven't blow so much money on drag racing ,but I wouldn't trade the fun I've had for 10years worth of early retirement. That's what cars are for to enjoy not to hide in a garage and stare at. Enjoy!

Watching the races this weekend was the only time I regretted having a V6. I love my Pamaro, but got the fever for more power this weekend. My next Camaro will be a V-8 with plenty of mods

Maybe if you plan on moding it to the hilt. Super agressive cam and some of the drag racing internals like rear end gears and such. But if not, then don't worry about that.

Its very addictive.. Ive had the bug for years and finally have something worth taking to the track.. Cant wait to break into the 12's on motor only.. Muffler Delete and a bad tune I still got 13.02.. I wish I had closer 1/4 mile tracks, but my wallet is glad I dont.. Just remember to clean the wheel wells out before you take it in for warranty work!!
