Trying to decide on the right trim level for me.

I've wanted the new Camaro since the time I saw the concept in Transformers 2007, I previously owned a 98 Pontiac Formula that was LS1 powered for 10 years. I sold my Formula for to move into a Camaro, but I'm trying to decide between a pretty much base 1SS & 2LT. I test drove a 2SS the other night & loved how the car moved, smooth & quick. Being that the LT is about 1.5 seconds slower than the SS in the 1/4 mile how does the LT accelerate in comparison? An LT would work a bit better for me financially but at the same time I want to choose the one that will be worth holding onto for a while, and will always be fun to drive. Also I want a car that accelerates and sails at ease when you just touch the gas pedal. Just want to hear some opinions from those who have experience with either trim level.

I chose the SS because I didn't want to look back 3 months later and say why didn't I get the V8. Don't put yourself in a bind financially if it looks like the SS will be to expensive. If it were me I would wait and save money and get the SS. There's nothing wrong with the LT if that's what you go with because it's plenty fast enough for most but it certainly doesn't have the get up and go like the SS. You need to keep in mind the cars are heavy and the LT doesn't seem to have enough torque for the weight. It boils down to YOUR personal preference and what you feel would make you happy. I can't be happier with my 2SS. I love it!

Your already imprinted for V8 power from your last cars. I think you would be disappointed with a V6. The level 2 trims are very easy to live without IMO. I love my 1SS. Just hang on till it is the right time financially to get an SS!

It sounds to me like power is the most important feature to you. Get an SS.

The thing I like best about my 2SS is how everything just feels so effortless when I'm driving it. It's like flying.

Drive an LT and compare for yourself before deciding. But, based on your description of what you think is important, it sounds like the SS is the way to go for you.

I went with 2LT, but based on what you're saying, I would recommend the SS.

If you can swing the SS, I would highly advise it. I am sure that there are some coming out used.....
