I've seen various threads on the locking gas cap by Stant (P/N 11504), and threads on how to manage the tether supplied with the stock cap.

Have not found anything on how to remove (without cutting) the original tether and cap to use the locking cap. Anyone done this? It's probably easy but I don't want to tear anything up, or at least not yet. LOL. Thanks!

Don't cut it. It removes easily.

I have an extra locking gas cap that doesn't require the original to be removed. I bought one and my dad bought me one. If you're interested pm me.
