opinion on my first oil change.

I'm planning on taking the car in tomorrow for it's first oil change. It's gonna have 500 miles on it when it goes in. what do you guys think, it's too soon?

I did mine at 500 miles. I'm sure I could have gone longer, but there is something about getting that first oil out of there.

I did mine at 500 and I just turned over 1,500 so I'm about to change it again along with changing out the rear end and tranny oil with synthetic. After that I'll change the engine oil every 6k.

one other question.

i'm getting some burning smells when i drive the car. it's not an over powering smell though, it's faint. this is the first manual car i've owned so i'm not sure if it's the clutch breaking in or what.

any one experience this when they first started driving the car?

The smell is normal. It did that on mine for a while too. Part of that "new car smell."

That has come up in many threads before. Nothing to worry about.

My car has about 900 miles on it. I am planning to change the oil at about 1500 mi. I am thinking about the transmission fluid and rear end at the same time. Should I go with synthetic all around?

Hey..
Did my first oil change at 1000. Dealer did it for me for $75 Mobil One. Told me I was nuts for changing it that soon.

My car had a "hot" smell for the first couple days, nothing since. I know you're lovin your new car - I still am in awe when I see mine parked in the garage everyday. That and my Kawasaki 900 Vulcan... See ya..

I'll be doing mine at about 750 as that's how far it is from my dealer to my place .
