Need help , has this happened to you?

Okay, so I am at a red light about to turn left in the middle of an intersection with my wheels turned slightly to the left. The light turns green and I give it some gas ... nothing like there was no fuel pumping in. So I get a little nervous and push it some more and finally it went. The whole thing lasted about 2 sec of nothing when I pressed the gas peddle. So I was chocking that up to hmm, crap happens and no biggie ... UNTIL .. it happens a day later almost doing the exact same thing. It lasted about 2 sec of nothing and then kicked in. Ever since, my care has been feeling a little sluggish and a lot less responsive.
I am going to take it into the dealer and see what they come up with, but from what a friend told me, it could be a fuel pump problem, but not sure ...
Has this happened to anybody here and if so ... what is it and how can I fix it?

not to me..im guessing its an automatic? my guess is its ur throttle.. u have a valve that opens and closes when u mash the gas peddle and it could be sticking and when u pump it or mash harder it will open.. usually it will sputter if its not getting fuel such as the pump or clogged hose..... i think.

Interesting. I have had a similar thing happen about half a dozen times in the 9 months I've had my car, except for me it's usually when I'm going about 40 mph...I press the gas pedal to accelerate (usually to pass), and get absolutely no response for a second or two (which feels like longer when it happens). I can't reproduce the problem when I try and it's happened so infrequently I haven't bothered to take it in yet. If it gets worse I definitely will.

Same problem here with an automatic, i was thinking it might have something to do with the stock fuel pump and my supercharger. Not sure though...
It happens from a dead still and sometimes when i'm going around 40-50 and try to accelerate.
