20" Polished SS wheels.

Do your polished wheels have all kinds of small swirl marks?

Like they are in the clear-coat.

I tried several scratch waxes I have and they do nothing.

Wondering if they are all like that?

I might take a drive to the Chevy dealer to checkout new ones.

None on mine. How are you cleaning them?

They are OEM take-offs with 10 miles. They were clean when I got them. I used a wax pad and Meguiars scratch wax for clear coat.

Hard to tell from the photos, but in my experience, depending on your viewing angle and wheel brand, polished wheels show details like you describe. They are polished after all, not chrome.

Are you the 1st owner? Looks like carwash pencil brush marks.

The finish on GM polished wheels has been pretty poor for quite a while. The ones on C6 Corvettes had lots of problems with milky/irregular finish. In most cases it seems that they are not worth the money as an upgrade.

Thanks guys.

I just got back from a Chevy dealer. I saw a few that looked a little better then mine, but 1 looked way worse, it was actually blotchy. OK I can accept it then. I bought them on eBay from SLP, they were take-offs from the custom Camaros they supercharge. I like my Midnight silver OEM wheels but I prefer a bright polished aluminum. Not a chrome person, they shine TOO much and take away the detail of the wheel in MY opinion. I actually prefer a deep dish wheel with a highly polished lip and a machined aluminum center or a bright silver paint, mesh style.

Anyway thanks for taking the time to help. J.D.

way back when,i bought some aluminum wheel polish.was gonna make my wheels really shine.then i found out they were clear coated.so all i can do is just put a coat of wax on them.i like my wheels to shine, but there is not a lot you can do with these wheels.GM did not do a great job of polishing them

I understand. Actually the Chinese didn't do a good job. It would be nice to strip the clearcoat, re-polish and re-coat them. That would be great, but costly I guess.

The Camaro above was at the Chicago Auto Show in Feb. They had several modded Camaro's.

I always kinda thought that the swirl marks in the polished wheels looked kinda cool....like one post said they are polished not chrome. And I totally think they are worth the money....so much better than the ass ugly alway dirty looking midnight silver wheels, which by the way look like they have orange peel from the paint (at least the ones I have seen up close)
