Another Trade in Question
I'm going to be trading in my '05 Cobalt LS (Oh yeah, sexy) when the Camaro rolls.
My question: Would detailing the car inside and out increase the trade in? Or is it easy enough for them to clean it and I would be burning my money? The exterior isn't that bad, but the interior is noticeable dirty. External Detail: $75 Interior Detail: $125 Before you suggest doing it myself, yes, I can do a lot of it, but I don't have anything to steam clean the cloth interior. I'm not going to buy one just for this, as I move every three months and remember what I drive now, and what I will be driving: I live pretty lean. Thanks! ~CJ |

I doubt it will hurt you, but you're not going to get a significantly higher amount by doing so. You might not even get back what you spend.
Unless someone was shot in there I wouldn't bother. Dealerships have people in the wash bay whom are experts in detailing.... The car is worth what its worth, it's been my experience that a freshly detailed car is nice, but doesn't get more $ for the car.

I think the detail would cost you more than you'd get in added value on the trade in. I'd skip it IMHO
