If I Like Manual Will I Like the Camaro Manual?

I prefer a manual transmission, but want to know if I'd like the Camaro's 6MT? Looking at a 2LT Silver Ice Metallic, no stripes, but with Sunroof and 6MT.

Thanks,

P

It was the ONLY consideration for me. I haven't had a manual since my '83 Celica.
I love my, I love my, I love my M6 Tranny! (Dire Straits 'Money for nothing' overlay here!)

M6 shifts real nice!

I have a 69 SS with the M20 Muncie and Cuda with the A833 4 speed and the both shift like a dump truck compared to the M6. Very smooth shifting, nice.

Ok....common on.....think about what you are asking.

No dude...you'll hate having a freakin Tremec 6 speed behind 426 hp.

Now....in all reality....I personally hated the factory shifter knob. Plan to budget money for a short throw shifter.

it's a beauty. feels very solid. Has a good feel, nice solid gear engagement. almost "clicks" into gear so you never wonder if your there or not.

I love it, probably won't even bother with a short thrower. I'll do alot of the things to the car before I bother with the tranny.

Everyone has their own preference/style.....that's what makes customizing a beatiful thing.

Some people like the factory shifter....some don't.

I personally think you don't know what you're missing. Just don't tell us we didn't tell you so.

he was asking about a 2LT which would have the aisin tranny mounted to a v6... i have the combo in a 1LT and i have no complaints at all smooth shifts everything is quiet... as i said before no complaints and its a definate yes... you will enjoy the manual in the camaro if you do enjoy driving a manual

DOH!!!

Missed the 2LT reference. Of course it still applies but let me re-word it.

"Come on.....like any muscle (or sports car for that fact) sucks by having a manual trans"

How many people walk up to a muscle car or sports car and say....."Now that's a nice car". Then walk up, look inside and say...."to bad it's an auto". I would be willing to bet alot more have said it that way than the opposite.

BTW: don't worry about the stripes. You can have them added afterwards with no problems.

I actually know exactly what I'm missing. I had a hurst shorty on my t56 behind the 400 in my s10. I liked it.

I'm just saying that I don't think this NEEDS a shorty to be driveable. I actually like the factory shift knob too. So the two of us happen to be coming from entirely different tastes haha

I'll personally spend money on a CAI and exhaust before I bother with a shorty.

but like you say, that's the beauty of customizing. You're not building it for someone else. at least we have similar tastes in that we bought awesome cars haha
