The guy who i have entrusted with the job of replacing the Exhaust system of a 2 week old 1ss with, DT shorties,Noweeds Ex Diverter and Solo Axle Back cannot believe he is Junking brand new components and has suggested i must be mad.
In my defence i said,'its what they do all the time in America,y'know,its called personalising your ride'.
I guess our perspective (european) must be different as a rule of thumb.
Personally,i could not of been happier if i had a car twice its worth,this car is a stand alone car of its time.

Had Harley stock exhaust replaced before even taking delivery of bike. And I had to wait a few extra weeks til the pipes arrived.

And my Camaro stock exhaust sits in the shed collecting cob webs.

I swapped out my entire exhaust system headers on down and the stock manifolds and cats are sittin pretty in my closet.

Sell these parts on ebay... don't junk them.

A new factory exhaust lists for $1200... I am SURE someone who wrecked a car would be happy to pay $600 for a lightly used one.

Went to the tip today to get rid of the offcuts and cast offs,and came back home again with 'em in my trunk,you know,just in case i need them some day.**** knows what for!

What is the 'tip'? I gather offcuts and cast offs would be the stock parts you got removed.

Guy said Camaro is 'FAT',i think thats a compliment.
Should get her back tomorrow after fitting Lowering springs.

I had to put my car back to stock for trade-in so I put my Cast manafolds and Air intake in the trunk so they could use them. There were so many BRAND NEW stock parts in the trash they didn't even use mine.

I opened the trunk and the stuff was still in there.

Now I'm pulling brand new stuff off again... this time it's going in the trash...

I did throw my headers at the refuse dump because i couldnt see any use for exhaust components that were already covered in rust spots.
My US dealer offered to put my OE fitment brand new 20s back on the shelf for 200$,as i had thought of buying some 22s.For that sort of money,i thought ,sod it i'll get to like them.Glad i did,i love them,now i've seen them in the flesh.
P'raps i am mad,i bought the car without seeing or driving it and my only knowledge has been achieved through the www and this great forum.

I say again do NOT trash stock parts.

Put them on EBAY you will make SERIOUS money on some of them.

What have you got to lose?

I sold a BROKEN set of Trans AM Taillights on ebay for 70 bucks.

If you're gonna toss the parts give em to me, I will sell them and keep the money!
