Photos from dyno day at Total Performance near Charlotte, NC

We had 4 Camaros show up in the 95 degree weather in Monroe, NC at Total Performance today (plus Tommy's SIM Camaro). We had alot of fun even though it was hot. Myself, ragee93, Bear2SS, and gearhead440 were there. All SS cars. Everyone was pretty pleased with the dyno #'s. When Tommy from Total Performance emails me the dyno graphs, I'll post those. Ragee93 had his on the dyno for the first time with his A6 and posted some good #s. I had a 6 hp gain since my last dyno. Numbers were 384.34 RWHP and 374.65 RWTQ. Gearhead440 with his yellow SS brought in a couple of add-ons (intake tube and plug wires) and added an amazing 19 hp, around 381 hp. Bear2SS killed us all with his Magnusson supercharged SS putting down 519 hp and 504 tq at the rear wheels! We took lots of photos and really enjoyed the day. The guys there really know what they are doing. I'm planning on bringing my car back after the headers are on and getting the HP tune. On a cooler day we should all get even better #s.

The owners there had a 2007 Shelby Cobra GT500 Super Snake signed by Carroll Shelby and featured on a commercial for ZMax dragway. That car was beastly! putting out 850 RWHP (not stock). The owner also had a beautiful 09 GT500 vert.

The shop is also starting a tv show shown on cable called cruisecontroltv. They were filming portions of it as we were there today. The guys are a good bunch of gearheads and Tommy is a true professional dyno tuner.

A couple of us grabbed some lunch afterwards and tore up US74! On my way back I also couldn't resist taking the photo at the end. This guy's 3' tall wing on the top of his Montero cracked me up!

enjoy the pics..

Thanks Topgun for organizing and thanks to Total Performance in Monroe, NC for hosting. Thomas seems to really know what he's doing. It was a lot of fun! I can't wait for Gearhead440 to post his experience too! I think I left half my tires on US74. Special thanks to Jannetty racing for the street brawler package. My car is now officiallly a beast! Put out 520 to the wheels! I didn't realize how much whine comes out of that maggie over 2K RPM but it is noticeable. I also didn't realize how low the LT headers hang. Gotta be careful going over speed bumps. Maybe need to reconsider lowering it now too. That Super Snake was awesome!!

First and foremost, let me echo the sentiments of bear2ss and topgun1, we had a blast and the guys at Total Performance are a stand up crowd! Their knowledge, professionalism and enthusiasm were readily apparent the moment we entered their shop - they want you to be successful and take great pride in their work and accomplishments. Thanks to topgun1 for arranging the event and both he and bear2ss are great guys who love their cars! Sorry for the drool on the supercharger, bear . We arrived too late to see any other members but I will definitely say that the Camaro5 members we have met are all good people.

Almost two hours in traffic with 95F temps we got turned around on the way there and Tommy was patient and gracious enough to meet us and guide us to their shop. Directions are not my forte’.

Special thanks to Thomas for performing the bolt-ons between dyno runs while the car was still strapped down and then firing it up and letting the computer tell the tale.

I had never heard a car on a dyno in person and even with the stock exhaust on our car it sounded awesome! This is something that every car enthusiast should experience at least once with a capable dyno operator at the controls.

We can tell the difference in the sound and performance of the car and are extremely happy with our results and that is what matters the most, regardless of the numbers.

Thanks again for everyone who made this happen, we are truly happy campers, and we are already planning for another dyno run when the weather is cooler and the car hasn’t been idling in bumper-to-bumper traffic.

Thanks alot, great analysis! amazing what a few inexpensive "bolt-ons" can do. Yes, we were all surprised. I may be snagging up some new plug wires soon! We were all impressed by your dyno runs. It was quite entertaining. it's great to see the hp #'s continue to rise with minimal effort and cost. Best of luck on building up the Camaro!
