Magnaflow Quality Control? (added another issue)

Just need a second to vent. I purchased the Magnaflow axle back competition series exhaust from a fellow forum member. The system showed up UPS today (it’s brand new). However, when I started the install I found something wrong. The driver's side 'stub pipe' that is supplied is not slotted and swelled. Not sure if I'm using the correct terminology? But, it won't slip over the existing oem pipe. Not a huge deal, I'll go over to my local exhaust shop in the morning and have them 'swell' the pipe for me. Just makes one wonder how a pipe that missed and entire step in the manufacturing process would make it out the door?

So I went to my exhaust shop this morning and they flared the end of the pipe for me. The instruction sheet clearly shows the shorter end of the bend as the end to be flared. Got it home...wrong. When I put it together the stub pipe was pressing against the diff. I turned the pipe around and it lined up perfectly without touching anything. So I went back to the shop and had them bend/flare me a new pipe. The instructions (at least for my car) had the drawing of the pipe 180 degrees backward. I'm very frustrated at Magnaflow...well, at least I was until I started it up after the install. WOW!! Here is the link to my video thread:

yea and good luck getting the tips to be symmetric!!!

i had lots of problems getting mine to line up...

i'm switching to either corsa catback or buying the rest of ARH's system to go with my headers.

post video of the sound! I think the competition axleback is the best sounding naturally aspirated system on the camaro.

i hear a lot of issues about the quality of magnaflow but I never had an issue.

I first bought the street cat back. . . and the fit and finish was absolutely fine. . . I wanted a louder sound and purchased the comp series axel back. . . just swapped the rear section and it fits absolutely fine. . . both match up perfect.

I bought a brand new Magnaflow cat-back exhaust for my Toyota S-Runner, and think I got a "second"... The fit was fine, but one of the studs that holds the 02 sensor in place pulled right out when I tightened the nut (lightly, by hand). It turns out that the stud was actually JB Welded (or some type of gray glue) into an oversized, non-threaded hole..! Some retard actually boxed and shipped the thing that way.
Easy fix though, I just drilled through the pipe, and threaded it for a bolt. No problem with it other than the funky stud...
I bought it from Planet Magnaflow at about 1/2 retail, so didn't complain.
