Just ordered a 2011!! Long story please dont flame! - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

So where to begin........ Well as some of you that may know me on here already had seen my Summit White 2SS that I had owned and the 1LT that my wife owned, but some things have happened recently that ... well threw me a curve ball.

My wife and I found out on January 12th 2010 that we were expecting our first child!! Yay right? Yes definatly the happiest day of my life up to this point but after the excitement settled down a bit my mind immediately went straight to our 2 Camaro's in the driveway. I was beginning to wonder what I was gonna do with them since they were the only 2 dependable cars that we owned besides my work truck so to say the least I paniced and thought no problem we will sell the cars and buy an suv and save the other payment money for the baby. A couple of months went by with me going back and forth on what to do, sell 1 or sell both or none of the above , well I put them on ebay thinking I was ready to sell both of them and I did , in about 2 weeks I went from 2 new Camaros to 0 Camaro's

My 2SS sold first , the car was sold to a guy in florida who came to pick it up on april 24th. I drove the car up my driveway and right up to the back of his trailer , I then got out and walked back down my driveway and went inside, I was in total disbelief as to what had just happened, my car is gone....I thought, I am cool with it , it's just a car..... Bullsh#t ..... I was far from ok but didnt let on as much to my wife who was in tears when it pulled off in the trailer. Well the next night I was on Camaro5 looking at all the cars on here and then looking through all my pictures on my computer and came across some of my car ... now guys I am a 32 yr old man and former US Marine but when I seen those pics I just started crying and cried myself to sleep on sunday april 25th. I thought to myself I would be fine as time went by .........well fast forward to yesterday May 10th.

I sold my wife's 1LT a week or so ago and the guy just came yesterday evening to pick it up. I was to meet him at an old abandon Wal Mart here in town since he was driving an 18 wheeler. I went over there and dropped off the car , said my goodbye's and my mom brought me back home. I then called Krystal and ask her to pick up some pizza for supper , not thinking about her having to drive by that old Wal Mart parking lot on her way home. I get a phone call and all I hear are my wife's tears and I ask whats wrong, I'm worried because she is pregnant... and she said.. "our cars are gone!" I said I know honey but its ok we will get another one , one day.

I have to say we both have the best mom's in the world , my mom gave us an suv 06' model 50k miles on it and her mom gave us a pontiac grand am. Now dont get me wrong I am forever grateful , I just wish it would have happened 2 weeks ago , but things happen for a reason.

Well now that we dont have any vehicle payments and a new Camaro is back on the list, but I wanted to shop around a bit just in case so I go out today just before I was to meet my wife and register for our baby shower and look at the new Challenger. I drove an automatic R/T and thouroughly enjoyed the car,but after that I drove to the dealership that we bought her car from and looked at the Camaro's, I test drove a black 1SS 6sp/man , thats the exact car I want except I want IOM , not black , not white not any other color, so we tried to locate one to no avail , and the sales manager says, just let me order you one. I'm thinking, not again but he went to the GM's office and he had just put in an order for a 2011 and told me "it's yours if you want it" I said HELL YEAH I want it! So guys I ordered a 1SS 6spd/man. IOM no options at all just like I wanted , I didnt like the leather , I hated the gauges and as far as all the other trinkets the 2SS comes with, I just didnt use them this time I had a little more insight as to what I really wanted and got it that way! Man I cant believe that almost one year after my first order I am at it again but this time this car is staying here til death do us part , guys for people who dont understand the effect this car has on you... they never will.

I just want to thank GM for building a car that brings with it so much emotion , I absolutely Love the 5th gen Camaro and thanks for reading this rediculously long post, Shawn

I completely understand you and your wife's tears!!

I don't think I've been away from my car since the day I got her. Congrats on the baby and Congrats on...yet...another Camaro!!!

True, but another member has named his son Scott Camaron and we had decided on Easton Riley but I will shoot that idea by my wife! wish me luck!!

I dont think so unless its standard equipment and I doubt it is on a 1SS , I dont really want it but if it has it I will love it either way as long as its healthy no wait thats my son I'm thinking about uh no I didnt select Hud on the computer
