Good news about tranny output shaft replacement

Friend of mine took his car to the drag srtrip for the first time...He has one of the cars under 10K on the Vin. Used competive mode and snapped his output shaft...didn't even move an inch off the line...

He pushed the onstar button at the track, had the car towed to a dealer. Got a new transmission under warranty and all is good now...

The tranny output shaft is a known problem...take your car to the track, if it snaps don't freek out...

Dealer makes money off warranty repairs...he told them what happened and they fixed it...

Comp mode is there to be used.

How come owners of the affected cars have not been notified yet?

Guess they will just wait for it to break and just replace the Tranny...

Cost's less that way, not everyone is hard on the car and using the functions available.

What's the best way to "test" for a bad output shaft? (i.e. make a bad one break)

M6, they are the only ones with output shaft problem, and also have competitive launch mode.
