HAIL!

Oklahoma has been getting pounded with bad hail and tornado's recently if anyone has been following the weather. I've been waiting "longer than normal" according to my dealership which I purchased it from. Right now they don't know if there is any damage from the hail storms last week and are trying to get some answers. I said if there is ANY damage I'm ordering a 2011. He tried to give me a list of camaros that are "close" to what I want. Everyone cross your fingers and hope it was under another car while the hailstorm hit, I know I am

Laugh, but that was the day it got hit most likely. I'm still waiting for the verdict whether it was hit. I would like to get the new HUD on the 2011

What did you do to yours? You could always drive north and park it in a vacant lot waiting for weather.

Everyone is getting new roofs around here!

After ONE of the storms, I was outside looking at the damage and this girl was running down the street towards my house. I am the only one down this end of my block so I couldnt imagine what she was needing. When she got in range she was yelling "is the camaro ok...is the camaro ok " I chuckled and said o yes it is. I actually had it pulled in front of my truck and tucked way back in the garage just incase the wind or hail stones took out my garage door! She was relieved.

Alright. Now I'm getting very frustrated. It's been almost 2 weeks since the hail storm and I haven't received any word on if the car has damage or not. I'm hoping they aren't fixing it and saying "oh it wasn't hit". I'm trying to get a hold of the dealer to see if they have any word on it yet, but they now as much as I do. I'm pissed and going to order a 2011. I'm hoping the deposit will transfer to the new order.

Thy probably are doing just that, dealers like hail damage, they get loads of insurance money, and what they don't use they keep as pocket cash. I bet your car is getting repaired.

The thing is they don't even have possesion of the car yet, so I'm not sure if they know if it's damaged. 2 weeks is still crap

At this point, the car isn't the dealer's to fix. It's still at the yard from the sound of it...and that means it is GM's baby to worry about. This happened (can't remember the weather scenario) last year too. There are laws requiring disclosure of damage and you can bet that GM is going to stick with them. The dealer might not, but GM can't afford to lie about damage. I can't tell you the number of cars we got donated to us at OCCC that you literally could not find anything on. Some were wrecks for sure, but others literally were undetectable to the untrained eye.

I know you don't want to wait to find out...but just be glad it is GM that has your car and is motivated to be very careful on assessing damage versus a dealer that might just want to move a car. (I'm not slamming your dealer as I don't know who they are, just making a statement that I've seen happen).

I called the dealer late today and they said they have received the car on the trailer. My salesman wasn't at the dealership, but he said they are processing it. He doesn't know if there is damage. I'll be heading out there tomorrow to see for myself. The reason why it took so long is they had to hold every single car at the yard and have insurance adjusters come out and look at them one by one. ARg
