First Problem - door mechanism - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I'm not complaining. To have a car, especially a new model, for 10 months before the first problem is great quality.
When I tried to close the passenger door it just banged then stayed open. It was as if the latching mechanism was frozen. I also noticed the window wasn't indexed even though the door was open. After hitting the remote lock/unlock button a few times it started working again but now there's a rattle in the door when I hit bumps.
I thought that maybe the door locked while it was open (the remote was in my pocket) causing the problem but if the door is locked it still closes normally.
The problem has never occurred again but I'll have the dealer check into the rattle.

Sounds like something in the door mechanism needs to be tightened up.

Do that soon as the door may not be latching correctly and fly open. Unsafe and not to be trusted till you get it looked at.

Same thing happened to the latch on the rear liftgate of my Trailblazer SS. Dealership replaced it under warranty.
