Mustang Pricing

I just happened to drive by our local Ford dealer today. $5,000 rebates were plastered all over the windshields of 2008 GT's. I'm sure you could buy one at invoice or under all day long then subtract the $5,000. If you were in the market for a new Mustang that's a pretty good deal. The Camaro SS for about $31,000 or a GT for about $21,000. That difference would make me think. I'd still rather have the Camaro.

The difference in price between the GT at that point, and a loaded RS/SS would be enough to turn that into a SC fire breathing monster!!!

But... it would still be a Mustang... nuff said.

Yeah, but after the Mustang's 2010 refresh those rebates might be gone. I daresay they're just trying to move the last of this model.

Although you have a fair point. SS pricing, although reasonable, when compared to current GT prices definitely appears to be on the high side.

The huge rebates are definately for the old design rotting on their lots. Even Mustang fans are waiting for the refresh. 2010 Mustang will be more money, but still less than Camaro. I cannot handle no IRS, and no style interior, even the new 2010 "refresh".

I've noticed lately... there are a TON of the newer Mustangs driving around town. Every parking lot I see, there's at least one or two mustangs.

Also, these rebates won't help much. Not only are there too many Mustang's on the market, (supply) the demand will inevitably go down (demand). And when these new 2010 Mustang's come out, the 'newer' mustang prices will drop like a rock. Not good for re-sale.

Yea, I can't drive to the nearest gas station without seeing at least one Mustang per mile, if not two. It's like everyone on the road is saying "me too! me too!".

I just checked online and didn't find rebates anything like 5k. Found some 1,500 rebates. Maybe it's just not as good in Southern California. Went to my local ford dealership's site and I found two gt's listed

MUSTANG GT COUPE PREM
VIN: 1ZVHT82H685160360

MSRP: $31,320

MUSTANG GT COUPE PREM
VIN: 1ZVHT82H985100489

MSRP: $32,510

35k for a 400+ HP camaro looks pretty damn good.

Further research just found 4,500 customer cash discounts... I stand corrected. Still the camaro is one rockin ride.

That and the two prices listed at MSRP are both higher than Ford's official price by a few thousand.

You've also got to look at the fact we're comming into the Christmas season.... the Model year is DEAD, they are trying to get rid of the old body style before the refreshed one launches in the Spring.

its an old tactic. And well not one that we should bother to worry about. Now when they drop the price of a G37 by 8,000 then be scared.
