Early Birthday Present from the wife.
Hey everybody. I just wanted to introduce myself to the forum. My wife surprised me a few weeks ago and told me that she's been saving up for a year so that we could put a hefty down payment on a new car for my birthday. We both come from families that have driven nothing but import cars our entire lives. At first, she was completely against the idea of buying an American car. She quickly became a believer when I took her to the Chevy dealership and she took a look at the Camaro and I revved the engine for her (they wouldn't let us test-drive). A few days later, I traded in my 03 Acura RSX-S, put down the 10k that my wife had saved up, and came home with my new 2SS/RS. I couldn't be happier.

Congratz man!
But they wouldn't let you test drive the car? Bummer, I would have gone to a different dealership. There is no reason for you to put up with that. |

sweet car and sounds like a great wife also. congrats on both. my wife got me mine for my birthday as well. had it almost a month and couldnt be happier with both.

Thanks everybody for the warm welcome! @monstertodd - Yeah, a couple dealers wouldn't allow us to test drive. They said everybody wants to take them for joy rides and nobody wants to buy the car with miles on it. My wife shopped around for a few days to get the best deal and I was able to test drive it once we showed them we had our financing ready and were serious to buy.

You had an Acura RSX-S and they wouldn't let you test drive......who the hell is running that operation?
I woulda gone to another dealer with my money. Anyway........Congratulations man! Now what are you gonna get the wife?

Happy Birthday and may you have many happy years driving your new Camaro!!!....  My husband and I bought ours last year to celebrate our wedding anniversary and I am the lucky one that gets to be the daily driver!!!...  One year later (5/19/09) and I still have my  'PERMAGRIN' ...I bet you have one too!!!...Enjoy the ride of your life!!!...
