Installed splash guards (1/2 of them)
I finally got around to installing my splash guards last night. I decided to NOT install the rear ones though. The rear bumper has too much of an upswing after the tires so the guards stood out. I still love the look of those wide tires hanging out of the bottom of the rear fenders and the splash guards just covered them up. The fronts are completely functional seeing as I already have chips in the paint on the side of the car, so I had no choice with them. The front also blend in much more. What do you all think? I havent seen anyone install only half the kit yet, so anyone that is thinking about adding these, here is a pic of what they look like if you dont put on the rears.

I would install the rears too. The back tires are even wider than the front and the rear needs the protection every bit as much. I disagree that the rear splash guards look bad too.

I would like them to save my paint but it looks better without any. Not that they look bad, just not as good as without.

I agree, put them all around. Mine are on order and after seeing what the rear tires are doing to the paint, they'll be the first to go on. I also have a set of Rally Armor basic flaps that I might bolt up along with the quarter flares. Unsure on how that's going to look but if it saves the paint on a daily driver, I'm willing to sacrifice a little tackiness. I'll post pictures when they come.

The only thing the rears are going to do is protect the rear plastic bumper. They might also help keep the odd stone in the wheel well and let it hit some paint above or in front of the rear wheel. My biggest fear is having a new car with rust on it - Im not too concerned with the plastic rear bumper getting a chip hear and there, underneath, where I can't see it easily. I am concerned, however, with my doors and gill area that are already taking a beating, with less than 2000 km on the car. Thanks for the replys, I just couldn't put them on the back. Im not saying the rear guards look bad, just that they take away from the mean look of those rear tires hanging out. I might end up putting them on down the road, but for now, this is how she's sitting. Pretty expensive kit for only 2 guards tho, haha.

I plan on installing mine next month. Going to have clearshield installed where the mud guards rest against the body in case I remove them for some reason, there won't be any rub marks. Since they didn't come in Summit White, I ordered SIM and had the dealer paint them. Only cost $95.00. I plan on posting pics once I get them installed.

Don't plan on taking them off cuz they're going to rub the paint off where the make contact with the body.
Just sayin'. |

I actually got around to installing mine last night as well. I put them on all four corners. I think they look great, already gotten a couple compliments. As far as the wheel width and the look - i had the exact same concern. When i was walking out to head home tonight, i noticed the wheels are actually wider than the splash guards, making them really really stand out with the width. It draws attention to just how wide they are in the back. I love it. But now i'm bored - finished all of my B-Day gifted mods - Defenderworx Shifter, Gill Inserts, and Chrome Bow ties, now the splash guards. Gotta come up with $200 for something else now!
