MTI Racing DMH Exhaust Cutouts

These electric exhaust cutouts from DMH Performance are to cool, with the flip of a switch your Camaro takes on a whole new aggressive attitude. These cutouts are great when you pull into the show or at a cruise night, hit the button and watch everybodies head turn your way, SWEET. They also work perfectly when you hit the drag strip, nothing like the full growl of straight pipes down the 1320.

These are not cheap cutouts of days past, these are extremly well built with a 4 year warranty. Let me know if anyone has any questions.

You can install them yourself as long as you are ok with cutting and welding your exhaust pipe. The low profile cutouts require an oval hole cut into the pipe and then welding the flange to the pipe. Then you bolt and wire the electric cutout to the welded flange.
The round cutouts are available with the flowtech Y pipe for easier installation. Just cut out a section of pipe, replace the section with the Flowtech Y pipe, attach the electric motor and cutout, run your wiring and you are all set.

Here are the DMH Cutouts with the Flowtech Y pipes

The low profile cutouts have a flange on the back that welds to the pipe.

I know this is an old thread, thought id bump it rather than create a new one..

has anyone tried these and actually got the car thrown on a dyno?.. I want to know where they should be mounted, and what to do about the backpressure. Does this not give you enough backpressure?

I had one on my RSX, before the cat, and it slowed it down like crazy

thanks for reviving the thread ive been looking into cutouts espicially these and noweeds.
these cutouts go any lower than the bottom of the car? i ask this because when im at shows i have an air ride system on my car and its only a few in off the ground.
and i was wondering about any trapped gasses underthere if i had them open while i am all the way laid out?

thanks for any help

price wise they are defently cheaper than noweeds but i have heard from different people that noweeds is a better set up but i cannot say how much truth is in that.

The DMH cutouts tuck up under the car very nicely. They can be angled down a bit or can be installed coming straight off the pipe. In your situation the Low Profile would be the way to go for ground clearance.

So you CAN run the y pipe and round cutouts? Everywhere I've seen people are putting the low profile cutouts on.

what about the heat from me being low to the ground and the gasses not being able to get from out under my car so easily

This is the situation the low profile cutouts were designed for. I do not think you will have any issues with heat or the exhaust gasses. You can install the cutouts to face the outside of the car on each side to help get the exhaust gasses out.
