Racing stripes are a must. I have seen a few on the street without, and they look rather boring. They don't scream 'look at me'. The cars almost go by unnoticed. I like the car to scream 'look at me' I guess I'm self-centered. (Sorry if that offends someone) Just my opinion.

Well speaking from experience in a way, I bought mine without stripes on it and agree with what Plainfield said that at first I liked it a lot, looked cleaner to me and after about two weeks with having no stripes it just looked a little plain to me. Needless to say I will comment back very soon after I get my red stripes added!

I know I'm in the minority, but most Camaros on this site seem to have stripes of some sort. People have gone stripe crazy. I just don't like the look of flat stripes on a glossy car. For me, the only stripes I like are the orange rallys on Summit White. All the other colors just don't need them. To each his/her own.

ONLY If They Are Painted On.

I was not going to pay almost $500 for vinyl stripes.
I've had them before and after a few years you start having problems with them. Plus I like the matching gloss from painted stripes compared to the vinyl almost dull finish look.

I'll have my on striping done in paint.

I will say though that the Camaros do look bad ass with any kind of stripes on the hood. Love the new hood design which by the way... Mustang changed their hood design because of the Camaro.
The stripes really show off the hood.

I feel more original by not having stripes, spears, or hockeys...

I agree painted makes a huge difference on how good stripes look.

I doubt anyone would say IOM dosent stand out unless it has stripes.

Its true if you dont have stripes your car does not stand out. The camaro's without racing stripes goes unoticed and same with mustangs. Flat stripes arent exactly that nice on a glossy car though I only notice the mustangs and camaro's without racing stripes cause I am a car guy

Maybe I'm wrong about this, but I couldn't help but ask since this was posted by a Mustang owner: aren't stripes on Mustangs called racing stripes and stripes on Camaros called rally stripes? You know, officially of course.

Single stripe with a the hockey stick is perfect for breaking up a plain color on a sports car. JMO
