Ground Effects... Need opinions

Well finally saw a 5th gen with the ground effects in person for the first time, must say that seeing it up close actually got me into considering them in the future, it was on a IOM painted to match, looked very sharp! Loved the IOM interior as well Now my biggest concern is how durable these things are, I have heard the tend to fall off at certain speeds, heard some people have had theirs fly off on the highway. I also am not to thrilled with the price. Canadian dealers want 2800.00+ If I could get them cheaper I would consider it. I just need to hear some personal opinions and or some stories about them. I just loved the look on that IOM!

I think they look good in person. Most of the problems were fixed with a TSB long ago. They are not cheap but you might find them cheaper than at the dealer online.

I think the kit looks pretty awesome, but I checked it out up close at the dealer and was baffled how they wanted $2k+ for it, it seems to be kinda flimsy and too "plasticy".

Surely there will be a decent aftermarket version at some point maybe?

I put gfx on my 2002 T/A, and it really made the car pop. Pros and cons, the price was under a grand but the kit made the car have less ground clearance, which i don't think happens on the camaro. It is too spendy IMO.

After my bodyshop painted them I told them about some of the pieces getting lose, mostly the fronts I believe, so they reinforced the front piece. They def look better painted. I'm happy I did it. My car is also IOM. The gorund clearance on these cars is not compromised. The black strip in the back between the exhaust was also painted to break things up.

I have them and had no problems so far - depends alot on install. I think they really add to the car and get alot of compliments on them.

That black and white looks great! Good color scheme. I find it odd that the GM instructions for the GF say NOT TO BE PAINTED or w/e they say, when I seen a GM commercial last week and there was a yellow Camaro with painted GF on it.

The greyish black did not roll with my rally stripes

so I had them painted semi-gloss black......
