Stock Shifter Knob 6M - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

What exactly holds it in place? My car only has 1500 miles on it, but the last 100 or so the knob seems very loose? I can turn it half an inch either left or right. While shifting into second today I noticed that it felt like the knob pulled up off the top of the shifter lever about a half inch? Afterwords I pushed down on it to make sure it was seated, it felt like it but what gives?

And no I'm not hard on it, or try to rip the shifter out of the console on shifts lol.

It just pushes on with a slight press fit. Just push it down and you will be OK.

it should make a click when it is seated all the way. Also it should not turn left to right.
