I severely dislike waiting! (Placed Order) - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

So I finally pulled the trigger, and ordered a 2011 2LT/RS A6 in Summit White this week, but production looks to be the first few days of August... in part due to the scheduled plant shut down in July. :(

Is is possible that your dealer already used their allocations for June and you're so far down the list your allocation may not be available until July or even August?

My allocation is for this next Thursday. I trust my dealer.

I placed my order 5/28/09. Then they had V8 engine problems, then the plant shut down in July, then there were constraints on Cyber Gray, then in Sept/Oct they added the back-up sensors. Then my order fell out of the system and no one knew it until I bitched in November when my car was still at 1100. Got delivered 12/22/09 and I'm still wearing my permagrin...

Sit back, relax and read up. Start ordering some appearance and/or performance mods while you wait. There's NOTHING you can't find on this site.

wow.. it certainly took you awhile, but if your order was at 1100 in November, that means that your dealer either didnt submit your order, or didn't have allocation to do so.... either way, you've got it now!

It's worth the wait. I waited going on 4 months for my '02 SS, and just shy of 6 months for the '10 SS. A couple of months isn't going to kill you. Start saving up for some mods in the meantime. Seriously. You won't be able to leave it alone for long.

Why does the plant shutdown in July if they just started production of 2011 models in June?

Seems like they would do maintenance, etc. while switching to the new model.

They "claim" that my order fell out of the computer system.. They were getting allocations weekly. I was #15 on the list at time of order.. It's a Hendrick dealership. By the time mine was finally received, he had sold over 100 Camaros.. I did get $2k off and 6 oil changes v- it's all good, but the wait about drove me insane - thank goodness for Camaro5.com.....

I suggested a support group for those in waiting, but no one listened. All I can say is that yes, it sucks, be strong. I'm hoping to pick up my baby next week-ish.
