Why hasn't chevy updated V6 hp to 312 on website?

Just curious as to why te chevy site and everyother webpage says 304 hp. I know some articles may have been written earlier but I would think chevy would have updated the numbers. This seems like it would help against the new Mustang V6.

Because all of the vehicles on the site are still the 2010 model year. When the site gets updated to the 2011 model year information, then the hp upgrade will be there.

I don't think the Chevy site has updated to the 2011 model year yet. You're probably still looking at 2010 specs.

They are still listing 2010's not '11's. I know that they use the same engine and everything else is the same but the 2010 V6 was not reclassified?/recertified? as 312HP.

But see the 312 rating is for the 2010. On the GM news release it says that the 2011 is the same as the 2010 and that the 304 were the conservative numbers from the Cadi CTS. 312 was SAE certified on the 2010

They're a little busy atm, making cars and trying to maintain a strong profit margin.

Forgive them.

I just wish they would get the pricing onto the dealer build site.

Not quite. Technically speaking, the 312 hp rating is for the 2011's not 2010's. Even though everything is identical between the 2010 V6 and the 2011, they only rated the 2011's so they can't officially say that the 2010's make the same power.

The web site still shows the 2010 model, that was only rated at 304HP.

My guess is they don't want to update the site until dealers have stock of the 2011 model. They also don't want to have potential buyers holding off on making a purchase right now, waiting for the 2011 model.

I spoke to a rep at Chevrolet the other day and they told me that the site would be updated on July 6th. At that point the 2011 model will be shown.

While nothing changed on the V6 HP for the new model year, it was the new model year that was certified at 312. So they don't retrospectively go back and reclassify the 'old' ones even though they are capable of getting the same results.

All sources do indicate that July 6th will be the date for full 2011 Camaro information. I think this was all by design because the plant is closed down after today for two weeks. We all know that they could have just started a new series of VIN numbers when switching over to the 2011 and having HUD dashes available for the 2SS and 2LT.

If they were holding back on interior options or other options we'll know on July 6th. THey (Chevy and dealers) have been very coy about releasing information on the 2011. I'm holding off till August to see what else may be available. We know the war is on with Mustang. That means more V6 options; exhaust, rear ends, etc... I don't expect any changes to the SS because of the Z-28.

Wouldn't that be something if they update the website and have a new brochure showing the convertible.
