92248560 (V8) Ground Effects installation

The installation NOTE states, "Before starting the installiation, check that the vehicle has not been fitted with a GM performance exhaust accessory that has chrome tips. If this is the case this kit cannot be installed".

Can someone explain why the kit cannot be installed?

I think the tips would be too big to fit in the rear bezels. The stock SS tips barely fit.

The stock 3" hardly fit. Anything more and the tips won't fit into the GFX hole.

Well.. I guess if you're going to buy the car to mod, you really shouldn't be spending $1,000+ on a cosmetic ground effect kit that adds no performance whatsoever to your car.

..... A. body kits help with performances (handling) ( aerodynamics)... B most people who have a body kits on cars usually have some kind of mods done lol, not just a bunch of stock cars with body kits that r driving around do you see? .... your telling me most people in the racing world have body kits are for looks? and gain no performances whatsoever

" no performances whatsoever " ( body kits ) ... say that to a car specialist... see what he says lol.

Also, i am just wondering, if you did get the camaro with gfx, could you install aftermarket exhaust? Do any of them fit?

I was referring to the GFX body kit. Not body kits in general.

This GFX has NO performance gains whatsoever.

Don't worry about the fitment of the tip, aftermarket or not. I have 3.5" tips and there is still plenty of room. The only thing to worry about is if the aftermarket tips are one piece (each one is a welded part of the muffler) and stick out too far..which is the issue with the stock tips and GM performance ones...which is why the stock tips are required to be cut when installing the rear GFX. My 3" catback has slip-on tips that I can adjust fore or aft to get the look I like, secured with a band clamp.

Question. Do I have to really cut my exhausts tips to install this package? I successfully installed the sideskirts yesterday but I stopped for now since I need to know if the stock exhausts of a 2SS would really need to be cut to fit in the new diffuser? I have 3.5" tips stock, not chromed but polished stainless.

Looks pretty slick, I would say find a way to get rid of or replace those crome eyelits.
