ALmost lost job

Well my company laid off 40 people from our yard yesterday. Luckily I wasn't one of them. I've only been working there about 2 years and moved up pretty quick and that's what saved me. I just got bumped down. But a lot of my friends there didn't get so lucky. A lot have kids, one has 5. I feel really bad for them and I really hope this market economy turns around soon.

I was just thinking the other day...
"yes, it'd be nice to have this shinny new camaro...but with the job market uncertainty, it's very hard for me to justify right now.

It's bad now and call me chicken little ....but I believe it's going to get even worse.

I'm in So. Calif (home building business) and we been seeing lay-offs since last November. We just laid off 1 more employee yesterday because a job we thought we had coming in just got cancelled! And there is no relief in sight for home builders in the immediate future. There is no cash here for anyone to operate. SunCal builders just yesterday announced they are $300mil in the hole.
Now I'm aware this doesn't apply to all industries but if new homes aren't being sold, that has a big ripple affect on alot of other industries!

I'll be waiting to purchase til this thing recovers! (and GM honors employee pricing)!
