Red lights mean stop...

...or so I thought. Clearly the guy behind me got tired of waiting for the green and wanted to go...

Ouch! I feel your pain. I got rear ended a week and a half ago on the interstate...

After the initial anger wore off, and I managed not to throw the guy that hit me into oncoming traffic, I decided to take advantage of the situation by having some stripes painted on mine while it's in the shop being repaired. If you have any paint work or other customization you want done, now would be a good time.

Turn lemons into lemonade!

I was livid when I got out but the guy was very nice (I can imagine since I'm sure he felt like a tool to begin with).
She's had worse - whole front bumper ripped off - so this is nothing. Still driveable (but so sad). And a bumper can be replaced easy enough so....

All I could think of after was Dane Cook "Why did you stop at a red light and let me hit you doing 80!!"

Though it was far under 80 LOL. I just hate the crap of dealing with insurance and repairs...Ugh.

The guy who hit me just like your accident was very nice to me as well, of course i found out later he didn't have insurance. I think anyone who gets close to me anymore is going to hit me. People are idiotic, and usually they drive a piece of crap. Make sure they fix her up real good, my body guy had trouble making the bumper flush with the wheel well after it was "fixed"

The guys that did the front did a good job - aside from not fixing the fog light (but the bulb was out so they didn't bother to check). Only real gripe was it too two weeks to get the bumper and get it painted. Looks brand new so...everything fit fine. Hoping the back is the same - I might take her to the dealership this time. Not sure yet.

This time at least I can drive her while they order the parts and won't be stressed without my baby for too long (I hope) : (

That sucks. I got rear-ended at a red light on a highway a few weeks ago. Luckily it wasn't even as bad as yours...just a few scrapes on the bumper (the girl's car was much worse, hood was crumpled). I was so angry with her though...she was probably talking on her phone not paying attention and as soon as I got out she started making excuses "It's not that bad" (I told her it was a new car in perfect condition and I expected it to be returned to that condition) "We braked at the same time" (WTF? I was at a complete stop when she hit me, but even if I wasn't she still ran into the back of my car) and "I thought it was green" (guess she didn't see me or the 10 cars stopped at the light in both lanes). Fortunately she had good insurance, and they got me into a repair place with a rental car the next day...and I picked up my car the day after that! They replaced the lower plastic part of the bumper and repainted the rest.

Masshole drivers. They should be shot while trying to drive into RI.

manual or automatic?

I get nervous sometimes because I think someone is going to rear end me. I don't hold the brake I hold the car in place with the clutch. I keep thinking someone might think I'm starting to move and rear end me.

That's not a good idea because if the driver behind you DOES jump the light and hits you, he'll shove you out into cross traffic and you could get broad-sided. That could be fatal.
