Weird noise from center console - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I have a ss with the m6 tranny. When I get above about 2500 there is a noise weird noise. It sounds like it is coming from the radio region. It sounds like a cd player trying to read a cd except kind of scratchy and fast. I have to hold it at 2500 or greater for about a second before it starts. When i shift up and the rpm goes below 2500 it is gone. Is this normal?

i've never heard a cd player reading a cd....

But seriously I think we need a better description to help...nothing coming from my tranny above 2500 ?

Mine makes a similar vibration noise when the R's climb but I don't worry about it. Every manual transmission car I have had vibrated to some extend so I guess i am used to it

Not sure if this is what you are describing, but I was getting a strange gurgling noise from the glove box area that was following the engine RPM. There is a service bulletin that addresses this problem. Take a look at this thread:

no its only above 2500 rpm
