None left?

I've called every MSRP honoring dealership in CA and all have filled their allocations. They all tell me I can get on the list for when the next batch is made, but some have told me that there is no guarantee I could get the car before 2011.

I talked to the dealership in Vista, CA this morning and they had 1 slot left, but as I was on the phone the manager came and told salesman it was just filled...very heartbreaking!

I did see a new thread from sales manager up in SF, but that is just too far for me in LA.

Any ideas?

BTW, don't bother with Inland Chevy in Hemet, CA. They are not going to honor MSRP. I already asked.

ahhh...I see. Well...you may have no choice but to get in on the next batch. Unless the rules in Calif. have changed about buying a car from another state, you could order from an out of State dealership.

I don't understand it when they say things like he can't guarentee a car till 2011, GM is expecting to sell like a hundred thousand camaros in a year right, so the next batch of cars should be like next month, unless all 100,000 cars have already been spoken for, in that case, HOLY SH*T!

Am i the only one confused about this???

I dont' agree with the 2011 statement .. The allotments are up till Sept 2009 right? After that it should be fair game and you should be able to order what you want or look at dealer stock? That statement confuses me ..

while car dealers want to sell cars, they don't like the enthusiast all that much.(unless that person is a sucker and will allow themselves to be violated.) we're a relentless bunch. we want answers they won't commit to. when we try to pin them down, we get bull s**t. they really don't have a definetive answer. until you're in the driver's seat, keep on them. it's better to give heart attacks than get them. only pay MSRP or less.

OK guys I have an excellent update to report. I found my Camaro at Putnam Chevrolet up in Burlingame, CA. I spoke to Ed Cevepak and he is honoring MSRP. Officially ordered:

1SS 6-speed manual
Cyber Grey w/black stripes
Black Int
RS Package

Woo hoo! Looks like I'll be driving her down next summer from the Bay Area, but I was looking forward to visiting SF again anyways.

my dad walked into a dealer here in Cedar Rapids on Saturday and asked for information on the Camaro from a salesperson. The guy looked at him and said: "We had 15 Allocated to us, we have filled all of those orders, so I have nothing to show you!" and HE WALKED AWAY!!! My dad said he just stood there as the guy walked away. I think we are DONE dealing in that dealership forever. Asses. At least show him the information and be civil!!!

Because there's no blue offered and some vague promise they will think about offering it sometime between now and "whenever" and we can place our orders now with our "backup" choice and risk $40K on a color that's not what we want when they decide to change the color after it's too late to change.
