Red face How Can You Track Your Order via the Internet?

Does anyone know how to track your order through the Internet? I thought I saw something about this but I can't find it anymore. Was I dreaminng? If I was, hope GM is listening and gives us this option. It would be REALY nice to be able to track our orders this way.

Tracking orders

Yes there was a PDF document on the Chevy site, I believe it was the Salesman prep book that said the orders will be able to be tracked through the net or your dealer.
I havn't seen anything setup yet for net tracking, you have to have the 6 digit order number though to do it.
I would guess it would be setup just before production starts.

Why track?
To see when you will get your car. Often cars are put on hold for various reasons, Quality issues, Supplier problems, etc.

I travel alot so for me I want to know when the dealer is getting my car, I would love to be there when it comes off the truck.

chrysler has a tracking system but i think its phone based, you call and enter your order number and then theres a corresponding code, like ORDER ENTERED, then IN PRODUCTION, SHIPPED etc

there is a phone number that we can call to track the order.
I think the number is in the .PDF salepersons guide.

won't do any good to track it until the order actually gets submitted to the factory in late Dec/Early Jan.

Talking

That is correct and I believe the phone number is 800 222-1020. I know I must have read this somewhere because I entered it into my phone as camaro tracking.

Tracking

This is also in the Ordering Workbook:

Estimated production guide number-Your individual Camaro production guide number for the first few months of production will be displayed in the "distribution" section of the 2010 camaro web site.

It says further down:
The dealer will receive a production guide number and all inquiries should be directed to them.

However it does not say when.
My guess would be when the orders are actualy pulled from the system, I believe in Dec.

Thought I read that there will be a phone # to call and enter your order # and that you could also call your dealer and they can track the status. I don't think there will be a website for tracking though. This was what I read somewhere about the time they released $$$

it's a bummer if they don't get a web site up and running for order tracking. That dream I had about tracking my order on line was so vivid! A week ago I would have placed a bet with anyone that there was a web for tracking. I even told my Chevy dealer to give me the order number so I can track it online. what a bummer.

What there to track? If you place $40,890 on a car before they even start production, like I did, you would want to know when they start production, how many are being produced a day and see your order pushed up the list until it goes threw the production line, rolled off the production line, into the trailer, to the dealer and off the trailer. Well atleast I do.

Gotcha. I just didn't understand what's there to track right now. Currently the only thing to track that I know of is a piece of paper. That says what you've ordered. Once production starts I see the need to track.
