Need HONEST opinions on BIG HP

I am throwing this out to all shops as I want all the input I can get. Alot of people are familiar with my car as my current setup is a 418ci TVS2300 with all internals upgraded with everything else and it also has nitrous and methanol. The TVS2300 is rated at 900hp and I am pushing beyond that. The TVS2300 has loads of low end but it just falls flat on top with this kind of power. I think the KB 3.6 will carry the power curve I am looking for. Dont get me wrong, the TVS2300 is incredible but I am not the normal guy. Most people would be satisfied with 900+hp but I want more, alot more. I have sold the TVS2300 and am now looking to go with the KB 3.6 and should get me around 1300hp fairly easily and I have the motor, suspension and driveline to support the power. I want honest opinions on going with the KB 3.6 or what you would suggest for reaching the larger HP numbers. Keep in mind that right now all I have to do is install the KB to get these numbers as well, so I am not wanting to spend alot of extra money to get these numbers. The only other thing I will be addressing is upgrading the fuel system as I have dual pumps and a KB boost a pump right now. Just looking for honest opinions as I need to decide on my final setup ASAP and get it together.

Also open to any shops that can sell the KB 3.6 and possibly do install. I would prefer a shop fairly close to KY that I can work with. Texas Speed & Performance did the original build and I have nothing but good things to say about these guys but good lordy it was a cross country haul to get to them. It would be nice to find a shop in my region that would be willing to work personally with me and my car as this will be an on going process to get it tweaked just right with a tune and getting to hook up. I just havent found anyone close to me that is capable of doing my car. I am sure there is someone out there, I am hoping anyways.

The TVS2300 will support 950hp at crank. There is really no evidence that the KB will support 1300 crank - So you are forging new ground. I understand you don't want to spend a lot of money but the GMS TT kit makes 1250 to the tires at 18psi

If you really want HUGE power run Twins and be happy forever

Think I am going with KB as I have seen many impressive KB cars and believe the 3.6 will live up to its ratings. I am just not such a fan of turbos but everyone has their opinions and why I opened this thread. As far as money goes, the twins and the 3.6 are the same money. I just dont want to design a different engine but enhance what I already have as I have already spent over $100k on this car, so pinching pennies is out the window already. I just think bolting the KB unit on and gaining 300-400hp more is the easiest way and I love the looks of the KB and their track record. I am listening and open to all input and just looking for someone to backup my decision or persuade me with input on a new idea.

How much boost do you think you'll need to reach your goals? Wouldn't a TT setup be able to reach your numbers with less boost? You'd probably be a whole lot less dependent on meth with the TT due to intercooler effeciencies. I wonder what your IAT's would look like when comparing the two. Have you considered hood/fitment issues with that big blower?

Again, I don't know enough about tt to know what IAT would be compared to the KB but the boost range on the 3.6 is 14-24psi. I just have never had a big interest in turbos. I guess if I could get the HP numbers and it be more efficient I am open to the idea. I would also like to know how the power curve differs as my car is a M6 as well. As far as the hood goes, I am going with a larger cowl anyways so it wont be an issue. I really wish someone had a hood that the top of the blower was exposed like the old school as I think it could be done to look pretty sick. I would really like to talk to someone about tt setup to let me learn more about them and how they differ from sc. My biggest concern is how the power is distributed as I have always thought there was a lag with turbos and having a M6 would make it even more difficult I would think. Then finally I am curious as to exactly what all I will need to do a tt setup as my car has been built for a sc and I am sure I will need to change some stuff and then I am just dumping more money but I would like to make the best decision for me as this will be the 3rd different setup as I havent found what I am looking for yet. Keep the info coming as this is helpful and interesting.

Hit up Apex Paul about the twin turbo thing, he has a bit of expertise in the area. Back in the 4th generation days he ran a wicked TT Z28. I even overheard him mumbling something about doing some research on building a twin turbo shop car the other day.

what kinda upgrades to the drivetrain have you done? what about suspension and chassis upgrades? can your eninge and powertrain even hold up to 1300+ hp? these are all questions a shop is going to ask you.

IMO a procharger like the one in BrooksRacing's car built by Late Model Racecraft would be a better s/c to go with to obtain 1300+ hp. he holds the record for 9.56 1/4 mile!

Yes all internals to engine, all drivetrain and all suspension will hold 1300hp. Nothing stock is left on this car.

I think at this point a KB 4.2 (or 3.6) would be the fastest, most painless swap around. Give Frank Serafine at Prodigy Customs a call. Tell him I sent you. He will hook you up directly with Jim Bell. Also, you may want to speak with Jon over on the Challenger site. He has a KB 3.6 and just loves it. PM me if you want more contact info.
