noob questions...

what exactly are headers, and what kind of power gains can i expect with installing aftermarket headers? will installing aftermarket headers void any factory warranties?

Headers are more efficient exhaust manifolds. Yes, you will see an increase in horsepower and torque going with either a set of shorty headers, ala JBA or Doug Thorley, and even bigger gains with long tubes and hi flow cats like ARH, Stainless Works, BBK.

Warranty will be void on the parts replaced, and cut. With the hiflow cats, you might not pass emissions either. You're in Florida, I have no clue what your emission standards are.

Look to get ~5rwhp/~8lb-ft of torque with shorty headers/stock cats and ~20rwhp/~20lb-tq with long tubes and hiflows. Those numbers are generalized and aren't set in stone. Also, expect to pay for those numbers. Shorty headers are cheaper initially, but require more extensive install procedures. Long tubes are bolt on.

So pick a poison, lol! Either one will help your LLT put more power to the ground!
