I have a 1LT and just let me tell you, it works... Who the heck told you it doesn't work. lol. As for the harness... You have to find it. I'm not sure which GM part number it is, surely someone can chime in.
I bought my Gauges with the whole 9 yards. It came with the harness, and everything you need to make the change. Goodluck sir =D

I mean other members feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. I am under the impression that all 'maros have the wiring harness installed. It's just plug n play. When you remove your current center console you should see a little plug in for your new one.
Then again, the girlfriend tells me I'm always wrong so could be the case here. |

LOL xD Sorry dude, your girlfriend is right... you are wrong on this one lol. I don't know if you are ALWAYS wrong though =p
Lemme clarify, it IS plug and PLay, but plug and play with the Harness lol. I'll make an easy diagram with symbols lol: What you will see: (SYMBOLS) Wire A: ---{ Wire B: }--- Harness: [X] Normal Setup: ---{}--- Gauge Setup: ---{[X]}--- LOL... hope that made sense... basically you just unplug the regular setup, and you connect the harness between the two wires to complete the circutry. The car just needs Info and Power to be routed to the gauges. Thats why you need a harness.

just buy the kit through your dealer for your car. if they run your VIN, they will find accessories for your car (some that even they didnt know were available). One item will be the 4-pack gauges. I ordered a set for mine and they come with all necessary items. remember that the gauge kit is categorized based on Canada/US (km/miles), engine (v6/v8), and trans (M6/A6). Order based on what you have and you are set! Here is a link to a similar thread from Canada, and on page 2 is a detailed look at what came from GM in my order. (dont be too quick to reference the part numbers listed if they are not exactly for your car)

get the gauges cheap. then ask Darth Martel to make you a harness, saves you a ton of money that way:
