Burn out or no burn out?

I was going to ask my wife, but I didn't want to risk a no answer. So I figured I would ask this group.

On my ride home from picking my brand new Camaro up at the dealer, do I light up the tires or wait for another drive?

I wouldn't take it to the rev limiter...but certainly plan to leave a few marks on the pavement while driving home!

Well, if you don't mind the gears in the tranny and rear end not being run in correctly yet, then have at it. It's your car

I have about a 400 mile drive home from San Fransisco to Los Angeles when I get mine....nice and broken in. Once I get home I'll mark my territory.

Varies depending on who you talk to and the instruction manual but most people agree between 400-500 miles.

It's my understanding that 500 miles is a key break in point. However, I don't think I can resist letting my tires loose when I take it off the lot (or the test drive).

I look at it as a test of will -- make it to 500 on the odometer and then raise hell
