To all the SC's installers & dealers out there
So tell me guys with the increasing number of chargers available now have there been any pricing changes for the SC kits since those first TVS2300's came out? Just wondering if the increased competition among SC manufactures have affected the pricing of the kits or the pricing of installation.
I see deals offered from time to time on SC's but wanted to know how/when I could get the best price on an SC or install? Is there a time of year/season when demand is down and therefore dealers or shops are willing to cut prices just for business? I mean here on the east coast could I expect a better deal in February than I would get in June? If I do other mods when purchasing a SC like CAI or suspension work can I expect a better overall price from installers because I am spending additional money and they are already working on the car installing the SC? Will I be better off purchasing the CAI or other stuff through the vendor that does my SC install? Hope these questions don't seem to anal but it never hurts to ask and any feedback from shops or installers would be great. And of course me fellow 5th gen'ers please add in your 2 cents even if it's not worth the money Love to hear your opinions even when they are dogging my threads. |

Be an educated buyer. If the folks you're negotiating with know that you have a clue, it's a whole lot easier to strike a deal. It's a buyer's market out there. If you have a handfull of cash, and they want it, negotiate hard. Find you a couple of shops that you trust and go from there.

Kit install is easy. The makers of the product hold a retail price level to protect the dealers. For instance: you can call Maggie and buy a kit for $7500. You can go to a dealer and buy it and have it installed for somewhere around a grand less. There are places that do not install and are dealers of some products. You can buy it cheaper there and install it. Regardless, you do not need to be that smart to bolt on a blower kit.
Just my 2 cents |

The TVS rotor assemblies are purchased from Eaton. So that component cost is pretty fixed.

$6500 seems a bit on the low side. Being one of the largest Magnuson dealers around, and having installed dizens of blowers on 5th Gens, We have them WITH install for just under $6900.
Don't forget the E-Force intro pricing is ENDING Wednesday of THIS WEEK and the pricing goes up at every certified E-Force dealer throughout the country. |

I take it that this does not include a tune. Isnt that pretty much mandatory when you install a Maggie? And how much do you charge for this?

If your car is bone stock, you can use the SCT tune (with handheld) that comes with the Maggie kit....must be stock, no headers, CAI etc. Magnasun promises about 490-500 RWHP with that calibration.

just my hunch not baseing this on any concrete evidence...just seems logical.Quote:
if I could get the maggie installed with custom tune for $6500 but very unlikely. It seems to me the average price I am seeing is that $6999 with tune....but have been seeing that price for a about a year now, just wondereing if it's ever going to fluctuate. With that said I do think they are reasonably priced. Just hoping the "deal" part of it comes in if I do other work at the same shop. Hoping to get more for more money spent if you know what I mean. Thanks guys
