Disappointed in my 1/4 mile times

So I hit the track for the first time ever last night. To start off I had a lot of fun and it was really exciting but I was pretty disappointed to only get in 2 runs because it was so busy. My first run I drove past the staging lights but I didnt go to far past and just reversed back. First run 15.283@92.74, second run 15.421@92.21 . I was hoping for 14.2-14.5.

Now I know there was a lot of variables because I had to drive a hour to get to the track and I had also been driving all day so I'm pretty sure my air sensor was heat soaked plus it was so busy I didnt have time to cool down the engne. The other thing was I had talked to about 4-5 people that were ttelling me there times were slower than they should be and that "the track was slow", which I have no clue what that means.

Anyways that was my first track experience. Also I have Airaids V2 intake and Solo catback.

The difference in DA (Density Altitude) makes a VAST difference in your times.

What was the track elevation? Temp? Humidity? Barometer reading ? With those 4 answers you can find out what the DA was .............

I'm not tryin to jack the thread, but what do you look for when you are lookin for a good DA? There is an 1/8 mile track close to me thats at like 430 ft, and was just wonderin what kind of other things to look for.

Low Temp. & Humidity The lower the better

Plus High Barometric pressure (like over 30.00") the higher the better

You can use this to figure out your density altitude:

http://www.dragtimes.com/da-density-...calculator.php

Obviously it is not every track but if yours is not on there, try to locate the closest one and punch in the data. You can also punch in the parameters for your track (if you know them for the time you were racing) and calculate it.

Do you have an automatic? What were your launch rpms? Were you laying a lot of rubber, or launching softly? I think you should get into the 14s with that car, no doubt.

Wow that calculator is awesome, it even has the 1/8 mile track around me is on there. So 1 more question, so when someone has their corrected track time, it is basicly the time they ran with the DA calculated in? Sorry for the noob questions but i'm new to the who drag thing, I mean I know some but never really got that technical
