Sharpie Camaro

I was recently asked to do a concept drawing for a local dealership trying to achieve a modern custom look. The concept i came up with is a semi 2 tone look with Sharpie Art on top that gracefully falls into the sides without being broken up too harshly by a hardline. The concept is pretty pretty out there, but it did get some peoples' attention. Enough so that they wanted me to do something full scale so they could see what they might potentially have. They gave me a 2010 Corvette roof as a test panel. I would really like to know what Camaro people think of this idea. Anything helps... layout, design, color... if you have a suggestion, i would like to hear it. Thanks!

Sorry, I don't think it belongs on a car.

Very cool stuff there. If you don't mind me asking, what did you use to create the concept. I'm trying to figure out how you got the bottom half of the car to look blurred like that. Airbrush?

Reminds me of the Sharpie Lamborghini:

I drew it out first, then used marker to fill the yellow and black sharpied the design... then yes- i airbrushed the color transitions of the body in. And i did it rather quickly without masking the surrounding area so that's what the haze is. The Sharpie Lambo is one of my all time favorites... i love the art work and that is what had inspired me to start doing cars that way earlier this year. I think crossing over into the new Camaro world would be a bold move for a dealership, but also grab alot of attention.

In this case, being done at a dealership, i would be clear-coating over it to preserve it forever. Then you can wash it just like any other car. Thanks for the question!

Might look kinda stealthy over that dark gray...

Sharpie Camaro Continued...

Incase anyone is interested... i Sharpied a Cadillac in Cali earlier this year... the artwork is a bit less bold, leaving more of the ground color to show thru. In this case, it's gold. There is an infinite number of ways to do this, but i wanted to give an example of something a little 'thinner' to see if maybe this is more appealing.

Please leave your comments!

Too busy for me but, (the concept and idea is there for the younger group I guess).
It wouldn't sell too much where I'm located. They would invest in a unique solid color or two tone.
Down here, only the back end has those types of cartoons and designs.

Here I am!

Been a while! The Sharpie Camaro route ended up being re-routed to Corvette's and then later to Ferrari's. Logically, adding that amount of 'flare' to an unsold car is limiting its potential buyers. So later we suggested to new car buyers (and later to Ferrari owners who were receiving full paint jobs by me the idea of adding more and being able to finance it thru the dealership. The way it was advertised was via my car... my Sharpie Fiero. Yes I know it's not a Camaro, but I'd like to share it with you guys anyways! Just one side is done to show quick contrast and a different kind of 2 tone. I also included the Lamborghini logo as a tribute to my original inspiration. Everything was done free hand and mostly at car shows. This particular car was featured in the local newspaper and has led to many more avenues. Sold the car last year tho- time for a new Sharpie car... any volunteers?

Lots more stuff on my website www.PinstripeChris.com in both the gallery and the blog

Great work, you have alot of talent. Im a little confused though. Are you drawing these designs with a sharpie directly on to the cars and then clearing them or is that airbrushed on?
