Am I wrong?
Ok I placed my order on 10/13 at a dealer close by my house. Agreed to pay MSRP and nothing more. Gave a $1000.00 deposit and was told I'd get a receipt the next day. The Inventory Manager that places the orders would put it in on the 10/14 because he leaves at 4pm and I got to the dealership at 6pm. I was suppose to go by after work to pick up a receipt and the GM order printout on the 14th.
I call before leaving work and the salesman tells me that the Inventory Manager didn't show up for work and to call back tomorrow. I call on the 15th and my salesman doesn't answer; I leave a message and no call back. I wait a week and call again....still no call back. The girl I'm dating gets upset and tells me that we are going to the dealer to get my deposit back and we will find a new dealer. SHE calls the salesman leaves a REALLY mean message saying that we want a call back in 1 hour or we are coming by to get the money. No call back. So I call two dealers one that explains that if i can come in on my lunch and place the order he can give me a contract, sell it at MSRP, and order it while Im there; didn't even mention the other dealer!!! We go to pick up my check and of course the salesman acts completely shocked. I asked for my deposit back and that they destroy my paper work. He had the nerve to ask why and the asked if they placed the order now would I keep my business with them. I explained that if this is the type of service I can expect throughout this whole process I'd be going elsewhere. I got my check and was sooo tempted to do a burnout in my GTO but I remained civil and left. Placed my order with the new dealer. They even showed me a few of the colors on factory cars that they had on the lot without me even asking. They gave me a receipt and contract right then and there. A completely different experience from the first dealer. If you havent seen cyber gray in person you need to. When you get close to the car it has a blue tint in it that is just amazing. Also Sunburst Orange is not the same as Inferno Orange LOL. Sunburst Orange looks almost brown. Inferno Orange looks much better in person and much better than any of the pics online. Its a bright color. Still hoping for an Imperial Blue SS though. And....GM you may have more orders but there are dealers that are not taking buyers seriously. |

Seems like the right thing to do to me also. As a group, we need to penalize bad salespeople/dealers by not doing business with those dealers. It's the only way they will get the message (less $$$$$).

Thanks guys! I'd put the dealer on the bad dealer list but i dont want to cause panic for the 3 people that ordered before me. I'm hoping that it was just my salesman.
If you are in San Antonio or the surrounding area send me a PM and I'll let you know. |

I'd say the only wrong thing you did was leave $1000 with someone and not walk out with a contract or recipt.
