Boston Acoustics in a non-BA car ?

How hard is it to upgrade from non-boston acoustic to boston acoustic.
I have the possibility to buy a complete set of 6 Speakers and 1 Amp.

Is it a direct swap and do I need anything else than the speakers+amp?

thanks

I don't think the wiring is there.

I also do not think the wiring is there and you seem to be 1 speaker short.

There are a total of 9 speakers in 7 locations (6 x 9 rears count as two speakers per unit since they have a woofer and a tweeter).

It appears you are probably missing the center dash speaker.

If you are going to upgrade, why not just get a 3rd party amp and speakers? There are some fairly decent budget amps out there.

Alternatively you can swap out the BA speakers and get an external amp to power them. Might require a bit more work and you might blow them too if your amp is too powerful.

Thanks for the infos. Would be nice if it was "plug & play".
(unfortunately the seller told me it will be a easy swap..)

But if it realy needs more work to upgrade to a B.A. system you guys are right - why not choose another 3rd party system.
Any suggestions on which products?

I don't think there would be a point to that. Just get four great speakers and a sub. You'll out kick all of our BAs. Haha.

Since we are on the subject are Boston Acoustic speakers and/or Connectivity package able to be installed by dealers?

Don't think so. I believe this is a factory built option only.
