Texas lighting Laws

Found a link that might clear up a few questions about the Halos and other lights for the Texans. Talked to a DPS Trooper about blue Halos and the blue led bow tie I installed. He explained that as long as they do not flash and can not project red forward or white to the rear when moving forward. I should be good. so here is the link and when you get to the part about the red, white or blue beacon. they are talking about flashing.
Just my .02

We have a LEO in our club that cleared up that same item. I had passed along that red and blue were a no-no. He clarified that blue is ok as long as it does not flash while moving.

So how did you beat the governor limited speed that is about 155 mph?

The 155 limit is on the V-6 with 19" rims. The V-6 with 18" rims is limited at 118. The V-8s are around 167 I believe.

All V8's and V6's equipped with the 20's (Rs package) are governed to 155mph.

It has to do with the tire rating, as Shuffler eluded to.

But, if you get someone to tune your car, they can eliminate the speed governer completely.

Still not sure how this thread went from lighting laws to tire ratings...
