Camaro V6 Gas Mileage - As good as Rated?

So, big question. What type of gas mileage do owners really get? State whether us or imperial gallons. 1 imperial gallon = 1.2 us gallons.

I'll have to check but keep in mind the mileage is based on a lot of factors. Some being the quality of the fuel, the fuel rating, terrain, altitude, etc. It's really impossible to tag a car with an accurate MPG rating.

I do know that I've had this car since Friday and am just barely under 3/4 of a tank on a full fillup.

It depends on how you drive it. I can get up to 24 MPG on my commute. Although it is usually aroun 20. I also can get 30 MPG on the highway...

The smarter you drive the better the mileage. If you know a stop is coming up then letting off the gas and coasting is better than waiting till the last second on the brake. Using the break is wasting energy. Also going faster than like 60ish mph will degrade your mph as well.

have 3000 miles on mine (v6 1lt ) consistantly get 25mpg mostly high way at 75mph
mileage check shows 36mpg at 55mph but that hasn't been proven yet
as (kurushio ) said coast when possible to a stop and not riding the brakes
car coasts like crazy at 60mph will coast 1/4mile and still be doing 45mph

this is a manual trans

my average in 5500 miles is about 19.5. This about 75% city/traffic and 25% freeway at about 72-74 mph. on a trip from L.A to San Diego and back with about the same ratio city/freeway and same speeds did 25.1 mpg, and on one stretch of 50 mph road with few stops I did 34 mpg. Only mods most of the time was a magnaflow exhaust and later a Airaid v2 but didnt really test to see if any gains. I didnt notice any real difference with 91 octane either but had better pickup and top end acceleration.

I have not reset my average speed setting on DIC which now reads 38.8 MPH. I usually get 23 to 24 MPG unless on a trip where the mileage goes up depending on type of road (Interstate or 2 lane). I live in a rural area 10 to 15 miles from any town so I have a mix of highway and city driving. On trips I've gotten from 27 to 30 MPG. I use 87 octane fuel and have the auto. I also have a 94 Camaro 3.4 L V-6 5 speed manual and get almost the same MPG even though it is lighter and only has about 165 HP. I like both Camaros but the 2010 is a much more refined car with way more performance.
