Fuel Economy of the Camaro SS A6

I don’t know how accurate our display is, but after putting the car through its paces last night I decided to come home pretty gentle. I was in a 70mph zone, so I set the cruise at 72mph and just let the car do the work for 35 miles. When I got to the end of the highway I hit the average to see how it did on the way home, and I was shocked! This just shows that if you drive the car on a long road trip at the speed limit and just relax, that it’s going to do as well as the V-6 on fuel, but you’re still going to have more horse power for when you want to play.

its up the min fuel economy, so if your going real slow at the moement it very well might say that number. You will probably get 20-24MPG

I'm pretty sure it's the average of the whole tank and not updated every minute. I always reset my average after each fill up, and when I'm in town I'm getting 17mpg (give or take a half mile).

It is neither up/min or tank. It is the average from when you hit the reset button until took the picture.

That's what I thought it was. Basically when at highway speeds the V-8 does really good if you are just cruising. I had hit the reset before turning around and heading home.

That may have been misleading at the time you said you reset it. If you had the foot off the accelerator hit the reset and was slowing to make a turn then you were not consuming fuel at driving rates.

Take it up to 70 (speed limit) on a local highway, take your foot off the gas and hit the reset. You can probably get it up in the 70-80 range. If you want to get a true Highway (at speed) reading set the cruise at speed limit then hit the reset and give it 10 minutes then look at the ave fuel economy.

The 'instant' reading is misleading. If you cruise at that same speed for a while the number will slowly go down and settle in the 20-22 range. The thing isnt very good at reading mileage for a very short duration.

i drive pretty modest and mainly highway as my commute is 40 miles 30 of which are highway 10 in town and i am averaging 24 mpg with a v6 going about 72 mph on cruis while on the highway and no rabbit starts in town. it isnt the 37 mpg i was averaging with my jetta but the jetta wasn't nearly as fun to ride in

When I first started to enjoy the throttle a little, my mpg was around 11.9

I now try and ration out the thrills, a little self restraint is in order I guess.

That right pedal knows what I want though, its sooooo tempting.

My A6 SS will get about 30 mpg cruisin at 70 on level terrain. Commuting Houston to Dallas I'll fill up and reset trip info, cruise at the speed limit and then laugh at people in their prius
THe car will get best mileage without cruise control and using a steady foot but I personally find this WAY TOO HARD lol
