Question confirmation numbers

I read in here somewhere people are getting some kind of order number when they place an order for a new Camaro. I asked the dealer where I ordered, and he says order numbers aren't given until Dec when GM accepts the orders?
Anyone have knowledge of the proper info on confirmation numbers?
Mark

Well, results are mixed. Some people are getting an order number (6 digit alphanumeric like NDNFX6) and some people aren't. Information is mixed, but most believe that if the dealer entered your order into the pre-ordering tool then you should have an order number. If they just took your order and didn't put it into the system, then you wouldn't. It would be preferable if you got an order number (at least for your sake).

Most of us are actually getting confirmation numbers.
Your dealer has opted not to actually enter their orders in workbench, which is their choice. I would be leary; most delaers doing this are doing so to order lot cars before pre-solds.

Send a message via MSN to Scott@Bjorn3D
You should of gotten a printout of the Order WORKBENCH.

On it it would have: Prelimanary Order Detail # NXXXXX

The XXXXX are the rest of the letters and numbers. Didn't think I was silly enough to post mine did yeah

Then below it would have the rest of your order info along with a Prioity #.

Why wouldn't you want to reveal your number?

They better not be planning that or I'll move on to another dealer. Thats crap. Whats the point of ordering now if I have to wait till a later order!!!
I'm calling my salesman tomorrow.

here's a copy of my workbench order which shows where the order number is. You can also read all comments. You should have received a number.
