At a stoplight with a 560 convertible Lambo

So i'm coming home and i'm at the last light( before a big straightaway) before i turn to my home street.

This awesome, but slightly older convertable Lambo pulls up next to me.
Oh the sweet sound of that motor!! Typical hotshot in it, and he is reving on me.

So i start to calculate in my mind...i have good deal more HP and torque
but is it worth it? if i lose its as it should be a Camaro beating a Lambo...not likely ..stock that is.

I throw 2 v8 roars back. He thinks its on.

The light goes green, i give it half throttle , still enough to bark second,
I don't know if the dude knew how to drive, but i wasn't speeding and didn't evenbrak loose off the line.

He is all out...and passes me after i bark second.

The dude flips me off. i wasn't even racing.

So i got home and looked up the specs on the Lambo i think he was driving.....he could have hooked a cooked me off the line, maybe if he knew how to drive... but he was spinning like mad.

i find it comical that he needed to prove himself to a Camaro.

Yeah i baited him, and i could have gone all out and took him well into triple digits. But this is a city road, albeit a 4 lane east and 4 lane west road.

And there are no side streets or anything.
I thought i showed great restraint....and modulating the thottle off the line. i crushed him without even racing as he surely was.

On a side note. That Lambo was sweet. The whole situation reminded me of fast and the furious.

the Supra and the Ferrari scene, however this guy dumped his clutch way to high.( and yes that motor sounded so sweet as he passed me, and yes i was tempted to put my foot to the floor.)

I'm too wise for this tomfoolery. Had it been the turnpike or interstate i would have done it...but it would have been from a roll in that case, and only to 20 over the speed limit. ok maybe 30

A**wholes come in every shapes and form.

Now here is a lessen for the younger guys, don't do it in the city.

Maybe if its a secluded country road. But i don't advocate street racing, even though i've had to put some Blue ovals in there place.

That TVS makes some awsome low and midrange at 1/2 throttle!!!
( he must have felt threatened.. with my low slung silver bullet) JK!

I wonder if i could trade my 2 cars and get one, with another 50-60k...............

yeah it looked that badass in person!!!

I am an American, and i drive American

what an idiot. i had something similar happen to me. i was at a gas station and a new lambo gallardo pulled up to the stall behind mine. so a camaro and a gallardo right next to each other.

then a bmw 5 series pulls up with a guy and his 10 or 12 year old son. they say, "that's a cool car."

we both look...yeah, they're talking to me! ha ha ha

so there you have it...camaro--> cooler than a gallardo

Amen brother! lol a**hole didn't obviously know what he had or how to drive it. I'm sure the Lambo was sweet but he can have the pricetag. I'm more than content having a Camaro

Glad you didn't race this guy. The laws in Florida for street racing are pretty strict. If caught, the State can impound your car and you can face jail time. It's just not worth it.

I've been egged on so many times by exotic cars it ain't funny. I've turned them down, but dang it's hard to do. My Transformer brings the kid out in both young and old wanting to prove something ...

I'm not going to debate the topic w/ you, Napper. I'm sure that you're a responsible person, but you created a thread discussing street racing, then you say you don't advocate it, but you do it.

No argument. I disagree w/ you, but I have no desire to start up the street racing debate again.

If my little town in Hillbillyville Canada has a drag strip, I find it hard to believe there isn't one in Florida. And the exotics probably go there too.

I don't condone street racing, and to take it one step further, I don't do it.

You are entitled to your opinion!

I don't advocate street racing. I didn't street race. i resisted the urge.

One question, YOU HAVE NEVER EVER DONE ANY RACING ON THE STREET WHATSOEVER?

if yes. You're a better man than me. Its an SS. and in my case a SC SS.

i guess i'm abit hypocritical. In the 4 years i owned my 525 rwhp GTO i raced a Z51 Vette on the street. One race in 4 1/4 years.

And really only one mustang in the SS.( ok maybe 2) these guy pushed me, and pushed me...and i had enough with the thumbs down from mustang owners!

i'm human. i make mistakes. Fortunately there was no danger in each races, it was straightline racing...and it didn't go past 1/8 a mile. likely less!

And they were boon dock locations! Might as well have been an 1/8 or 1/4 mile.

In florida near the everglades its pretty isolated.

The Lambo was an encounter. 2 opposite ends of the spectrum at the light.
and i really liked the car, Everything about it was supercool.(cept the tool behind the wheel)

Like you, and others, i DO NOT advocate street racing.
however if you have the urge...take it to most desolate area in your region.
fact is....it happens.
Its where it happens thats dangerous...a desolate rural road. Low risk.

Did you see the Top Gear episode with the CTS-V?

It was re-run last night. Jeremy loved it -- and it it beat Stig in an Audi S4!

His only complaint was that it felt cheap (plastic American car) and the constant "bong"
