TICKING NOISE
I hear a ticking noise on the right side of the engine. Does anyone know if this is a normal sound?. The mechanic at the dealer said all the camaros have that noise.

All the sixes do, it's the injectors for the DI. No worries.

I just brought home my 2011 Camaro 2LT R/S home a week ago. I don't remember the V-6 engine making any ticking noises, but on the other hand, I've been too busy enjoying the BA Stereo. Anyway, you may just be hearing the sound of a lifter or rod as the oil gets thin & hot. This may happen more if you happen to idle the engine for long periods in traffic. You didn't mention how loud the ticking is, if its a very faint quiet ticking, that could be just the fuel injector. I did notice a simular audible ticking noise from my 2004 Chevy Silverado recently. I figured there was nothing wrong, it was just the oil they use nowadays in engines tend to get hot & thin easily, especially in the summer months. They use pretty light weight oil for the tighter tolerances of todays engines, so I would think thats what your hearing. Just keep an ear out for it, if you hear a different or louder than normal ticking sound, take it back to the shop for a different mechanic to check it out. I hope this helps some. So long as your gauge shows you have good oil pressure, or if the computer doesn't show a low oil pressure light or message, I would think your good.

I was in the same boat as the OP. After nothing but trucks since '98, I don't know how to act with a car again! How do you people manage sitting so close to the ground!
