4300K HID Fog Light Conversion for RS
Has anyone out there in internet land installed the BFXenon RS fog light HID conversion kit in 4300k (match the OEM HID headlights) and have pics?
not sure if i wanna save time and money and just get the fog light conversion kit in 4300k, or get the 6000k kit and change out my headlight bulbs for 6000k as well. also, i'd like to note i do not want 8000k bulbs because i want my lights to be WHITE with as little blue as possible.

I bought the 5202 bulbs (I have a non-RS) from AAC and I think they would match up perfectly with the factory 4300k. I'm sure BfXenon's will be the same. However, they DO NOT match very well with 6000k IMO. You can definately see the difference with the 6000k lights. Enough that I took mine out last night (waste of $80
). Now....I do have 6000k lights and I really like the color. Just an ever so slight hint of blue/purple. 8000k were too blue IMO. I had to end up buying a new set of 6000k bulbs (another waste of $80 ). If you have the money and want to look a little different then go with 6000k. However there may not be enough difference for you to really notice betweek 4300k - 6000k without seeing them side by side. It's just all in what you want to do and how much money you have to spend.

I am also interested in a good match to get the DRLs to look more like the factory RS HIDS and an adapter so that they will stay on all the time. I'm getting confused reading about all the choices...

here is the BFXenon RS kit i got last week: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() as you can tell, the parts don't look like cheap china made parts, the new 5202 housings are OEM with the HID bulbs already installed, everything is plug and play, the only wiring you have to do is connect the 9006 adapters to the switch wires with a crimping tool or pliers, and run the wires to the battery terminal in the engine, then find a bolt to put the ground wires on, plug the adapters into the ballasts, and the ballast connectors to the HID bulb connectors. no soldering or custom wiring required.

alright, i got them working... they look really good.
some comments about the install: 1. i crossed the wires that connect the ballasts to the switch with an adapter, so i had to switch that... the lights wouldn't come on and i was like WTF ... but its fixed now as you can tell.2. the 2 sided tape on the switch is crappy, i had to add a layer of two sided tape to it of my own. 3. the way i ran the wires into the cabin was through the driver side fender and into the hole that the door wires go through. 4. the lights are adjustable, meaning you can tilt them up and down which is a nice feature so you don't blind people at night. 5. they are pretty bright, just as bright as the headlights, can't wait to see them at night! the final test will be tonight when i see them on with the headlights, but so far they seem to match! time to go wash her... i'll give y'all an update later ![]() ![]() ![]()

here are some pics of the inside of the bumper and how i mounted the ballasts. i just cleaned the bottom of the bumper with some all purpose cleaner, put 3M two sided tape on the bottom of the ballasts and placed them where you see them.
my wife just LOVED my bumper sitting on our guest bed for 5 days!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() and these adapters plug into the ballasts and are wired to the switch kit like in the diagram above. ![]() here is the night shot! the picture does not do it justice. it seems that the HIDs change colors as they warm up. when i first turned the headlights on they were slightly blue, i walked over flipped the switch for the fogs and the headlights were white and the fogs were slightly blue. after about 30 seconds they both were white with a very small hint of yellow (these are stock bulbs which are 4300K; 6000k would be pure white and 8000k would be tinted blue) of course the brightness is very different, considering the headlights are in a projector, and the fogs are the standard halogen concave lens. i think i nailed the alignment of them perfectly without any adjustments. the fogs point downward and only shine about 40 feet in front of the car, and the headlights of course light up the road like its daytime! :hmm: now i wonder what the fogs would look like with some projector style lenses!!! http://www.automotivelightstore.com/CamaroFogKit.aspx
